I just finished reading your book, which I really enjoyed, and was glad to find this blog. I am the adoptive mom to 2 Ukrainian girls, now 22 and 25. They were born in Cherkasy. I first was in The country in 1997 have been back three other times. The last visit was 3.5 years ago. I am heartbroken over what I see on TV. The kind people that live there so do not deserve this fate. I am unable to connect with my friends there, and just pray they are safe. I am glad you were able to reach safety with your wife.

Hi Lorna, first of all thank you so much for reading my book. I’m so happy you enjoyed it. I remember visiting Cherkasy a few years ago, me an some other volunteers did a camp in Uman. Beautiful city. I hope that both you and I can return to Ukraine in the near future.
